        The Transition
Entering High School provides students with a variety of new experiences and challenges.  Coursework may be more challenging and students will be expected to take an active and participatory role in “learning to learn”.  Students will take courses that will lead them toward graduation and future educational options.  As students go through this transitional period, they will continue to develop physically, emotionally and socially.  The experiences they involve themselves in during the year will help them grow into mature adults and prepare them for the remainder of their high school career.  It’s very important that you continue to communicate with your son or daughter as well as the school to ensure a positive transition.  In reality, this is not only a transition period for students, but also a transition experience for parents.  As the years pass, your son/daughter will become more self-sufficient and independent.  Even though it may appear at times they do not need you – THEY DO AND MORE THAN EVER!  It is very important to stay involved in your child’s life to make sure they are doing well in school and making good choices and decisions.  If we can do anything to assist, please do not hesitate to reach out and give us a call.
