✈️ A Real Aircraft on Campus! 🛠️

Charlotte High's Aviation Program Gets a Cessna Boost
We are thrilled to announce a significant and exciting addition to the Charlotte High Aviation program: a Cessna small aircraft has been donated to our students! This incredible gift transforms our classroom instruction from abstract concepts into concrete, hands-on learning.
Beyond the Textbooks: Learning on a Live Aircraft
While our flight simulators offer invaluable experience in piloting, nothing compares to being able to work on a real, airframe. The donated Cessna will provide our students with an unparalleled opportunity to delve into the world of aircraft maintenance, assembly, and fabrication.
-
Hands-On Mechanics: Students can physically explore the inner workings of a general aviation aircraft. They will learn about the engine systems, control surfaces, wiring harnesses, and corrosion control in a true, practical setting.
-
A&P Prep: This hands-on experience is critical for students interested in becoming FAA-certified Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanics—a high-demand, high-wage career path. Being able to put their hands on the rivets, systems, and components of an actual aircraft will give them a major head start.
-
Problem-Solving: The aircraft will be a dynamic, living laboratory where students can practice troubleshooting, perform inspections, and gain the real-world experience that employers in the aviation industry are looking for.
Investing in the Future of Flight
This donation is a powerful testament to the community's support for our growing aviation and aerospace initiatives, which include partnerships with Charlotte Technical College and the construction of new training facilities.
The generosity of the donor and the visibility of this aircraft on our campus solidify Charlotte High's role as a leader in training the next generation of aviation professionals—from the pilots who fly the planes to the skilled technicians who keep them safe in the sky.
Come take a look and see the future of aviation education taking shape right here at Charlotte High!
