Blue Crew is Charlotte High School’s very own “student body pep club” whose purpose is to bring a spirited atmosphere to the campus at Charlotte High School. Blue Crew is a great way for the Tarpon fan to save money and show their Tarpon Pride.

A $50 Blue Crew Membership includes the following:
Official Crew T-shirt
Blue Crew Sticker for the back of your ID
Free admission to all home regular season athletic events
Free admission to Blue Crew socials and pep rallies
Recognition as a major part of the "Spirit of CHS" with 200+ members each year

Students may purchase a Blue Crew membership before or after school in room C-110.

Students must wear an Official Blue Crew T-shirt and show CHS student ID with Blue Crew Sticker for free admission into qualifying athletic events.
Any student interested in being part of CHS blue crew, please come by "C hallway" rooms C110, C111, & C113 in the morning before school or afterschool with your check or cash of $50, and get a new blue crew shirt, and a sticker to get into all the home sporting events for free!

If you love to read, this is the club for you! We talk about Books (of course), but we also make crafty projects and plan other fun activities. We promote recreational reading among students and faculty at Charlotte High School. The club offers members an opportunity to discuss literary works across different genres, feeling free to voice their opinions while listening to and being open to the opinions of others. Students from all walks of life and all academic levels are encouraged to interact and find common threads in their daily lives that are enriched by the literature explored.

The Centennial Club will collect and prepare new and existing Tarpon history and exhibits for the 2026 100th Anniversary.  Club members will do research, search archives, solicit artifacts and conduct interviews to create text panels and build exhibits. They will be freshening up existing history related exhibits, and coordinate new exhibits with clubs, departments and teams. They will prepare a map of displays around campus and serve as docents for tours during the centennial.

A ministry that engages, equips, and empowers coaches and athletes to use their platform to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.  This is a Christian-based club open to all students. The club currently consists of 50% athletes and 50% non-athletes, but all share a common bond in their faith/beliefs.

Green Tarps are student volunteers who collect all of the school's recyclables on a weekly basis. They promote recycling to help keep our environment healthy for the future. Members earn one hour of volunteer time towards your Bright Future Scholarship.

Charlotte High School Interact Club welcomes all CHS and FSW students in grades 9-12 who want to connect with others in service to their school, community, and world. A part of Rotary International, Interact is a global service organization that fosters leadership and responsible citizenship, and strives to promote world peace and understanding. There are now 345,953 Interact members in 14,911 clubs in 145 countries! Interact members have fun while carrying out service projects and learning about the world. In fact, the name "Interact" was created by combining the words "international" and "action." Members also earn community service hours toward graduation. CHS Interact Club is sponsored by the Punta Gorda Rotary Club, and they are led by their own elected officers and faculty advisor, Mrs. Summer Nicklas, CHS Career Specialist.

Key Club is a student-led organization focused on service and leadership development. As a member of the Kiwanis family, Key Club is the oldest and largest service program for high school students. We are looking for new members from now until mid-October when the official roster must be finalized. If you are interested in joining Key Club, please complete the digital application and send in the $25 dues to Mrs. Kuhar in G-218 (cash or check payable to CHS Key Club). Applications and dues must be submitted by Oct. 6^th. SPARK = SPreading Positivity And Reaffirming Kindness
The goal of SPARK Club is to promote positivity and raise morale among CHS students and staff. We do small projects monthly to brighten the days of those around us and do larger projects each quarter, inviting all students to participate in spreading a little kindness and showing gratitude. SPARK Club members earn volunteer hours while helping to make each day a little brighter.

The Leo Club is sponsored by the local Lions Club. Members of the Leo Club have a passion for community service and develop leadership skills.

Our mock trial team is an academic competitive club where students step into the roles of attorneys and witnesses to simulate real civil or criminal court trials. Part legal chess match, part theater, the team operates under the strict rules of evidence and courtroom decorum, competing against rival schools in real courtrooms before active judges and legal professionals.

Tri-M is a National Honor Society for music students. Students must demonstrate a commitment to their music program and also meet minimum GPA requirements. Induction is contingent on performing a solo or in a small ensemble at the Induction Ceremony in the spring.

The purpose of the group is to work towards the promotion of music throughout the community. We also try to instill a desire to contribute to their lives through community service. Students are required to perform 10 hours of community service.

HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER

1. In March, invitations go out to students with a cumulative weighted GPA of 3.5 or higher.
2. Students are encouraged to submit applications for review by the Faculty Council.  The scoring rubric is linked below.
3. Letters of acceptance are sent out in April.

TLA is a 7 Habits oriented leadership-based organization that encourages student involvement in school and community events as well as Charlotte High School initiatives. Students take part in leadership training, fundraising, and partnering with community organizations to improve educational opportunities and create a more well-rounded educational experience for CHS students.

Members must meet application standards, including a minimum GPA, behavioral standards, and evidence of prior community or school involvement. Applications for each year are generally processed at the end of the previous year so that training may take place over the summer.

This is an extracurricular class that does include travel and concerts outside the school day. In this class, we explore different types of vocal music through performance. All students are welcome to join! Charisma is our traveling, auditioned, SATB ensemble. They are the class with the most time commitments outside the school day.

FFA is a dynamic youth organization that changes lives and prepares members for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. FFA develops members’ potential and helps them discover their talent through hands-on experiences, which give members the tools to achieve real-world success.

Members are future chemists, veterinarians, government officials, entrepreneurs, bankers, international business leaders, teachers and premier professionals in many career fields. FFA is an intracurricular (happening both in & out of the classroom) student organization for those interested in agriculture and leadership. It is one of the three components of agricultural education.

The official name of the organization is the National FFA Organization. The letters “FFA” stand for Future Farmers of America. These letters are a part of our history and our heritage that will never change.

The Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) is a high school program sponsored by the U.S. Navy. Its primary mission is to instill in students the values of citizenship, service to the United States, and personal responsibility. The program is designed to develop leadership skills and a sense of accomplishment in students.
